Turning an everyday situation into comedy
The Delay starts with a universal habit: the person who is late always has a very good reason. Its humor comes from the distance between the explanation and what the situation actually reveals.
The beginning of a method
Shot on an iPhone 6 and edited in Final Cut Pro, the project belongs to Anlygne’s early experiments between 2016 and 2018. The short format requires a fast setup, readable characters and a clear final idea. That narrative discipline would remain visible in the longer productions that followed.
From hobby to production
The Delay represents the point at which creation gradually stopped being only a hobby and became a structured practice. The tools were modest, but the choices of rhythm, framing and editing already reflected an ambition to create stories for digital audiences.
